The Black Hills National Forest (BHFN) encompasses more than 1 million acres of public lands for hiking and horseback riding, maintaining two horse camps adjacent to the Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak) Trail System, a group of well-marked, numbered, and interconnected trails.
