The first night blast of the year is June 26th. It celebrates the birthday of the late Mrs. Korczak (Ruth) Ziolkowski (1926 - 2014), wife of the late Crazy Horse sculptor. Historic Mount Roosevelt Friendship Tower Centennial Celebration

Background: The Mount Roosevelt Friendship Tower was constructed in 1919 to honor a great friendship. Seth Bullock, the famous Deadwood sheriff, US Marshall, and Forest Supervisor, built the tower with the Society of Black Hills Pioneers as a memorial to President Theodore Roosevelt, his close friend and creator of the US Forest Service.
