Fall Volksmarch at Crazy Horse

This autumn hike is the public’s second chance of the year to walk up the world’s largest mountain carving in progress. The Crazy Horse Volksmarch is the most popular organized hike in the United States (15,000 walkers in a record year). This event allows participants to hike a paved path along a ""creepy"" route, consisting of costumed characters. The characters humor their audiences with short skits about the natural history of various critters living in Custer State Park and the Black Hills. Hikes take place every 15 minutes from 5:30-8 p.m. MT both days (Oct 26-27). Reservations are required for all participants and can be made by contacting the Peter Norbeck Outdoor Education Center at (605) 255-4515

2019 Burning Beetle
