The holidays will come to life when Mayor Steve Allender leads the countdown to light the over 30-foot blue spruce tree at promptly 4:45 p.m. Mayor Allender has proclaimed Saturday, Nov. 27, as Small Business Saturday, joining the Downtown Rapid City Business Group in a nationwide effort to steer shoppers toward local, independently-owned businesses during the holiday season. He will present the proclamation in conjunction with the tree lighting.
